Why subscribe?

I mean, the quick answer is ‘because I would highly appreciate it’. The bigger answer is that it encourages more creation, it amplifies the voice, and, crucially, it allows a wider outreach. I gain nothing inherently by writing on these topics — but if this is of interest and usefulness to even a few people, then subscribing would be the quickest, most efficient way to demonstrate that. Stay up-to-date

Every single new post that I make will come directly to your email inbox. No matter what topic, what language, what length… you will be the first to see it. I’m hoping to talk about a plethora of innovative, topical and ‘happening now’ subjects. You don’t want to miss out on that… do you?

Become a key player in the ideas for content.

OK, that sounds slightly LinkedIn-esque. But you get what I mean, right? If you subscribe, it shows me you’re interested; if I see a pattern in those who are interested, I’m more likely to write content that will be useful. The circle gets bigger, the content gets better, and the outreach opportunities get even more plentiful. It’s a perfect system!

This is a personal Substack which aims to contribute something of interest. It will be heavily focused on linguistics, travel and culture, slightly less heavily focused on politics, science and humanity, and probably never focused on, well, other things.
